Our processes for print projects focus on assessment of your requirements, gathering and creating the artwork and content, working with you to hone our design, and choosing the appropriate printer.
In this first step we have discussions regarding the format, direction and processes of development for your project(s) and services requested.
We start by listening. What exactly are you wishing to achieve? Our focus is you, your business, and how we can create print media so you can successfully market your business. We use this information and insight to develop a design, development, and production plan.
Plan Ahead - The Timing of Your Projects
It’s always a good idea to plan at least 30 days for all projects. This usually gives everyone enough time to be thorough with all processes of most projects.
Quick Requests are things like logo art to vendors, business cards for additional staff (once the initial project is complete, it would only need to be revised), reprints of existing projects, and similar jobs. We’ll squeeze this into our day(s) and turn them around quickly for you without incurring rush fees whenever possible.
Receipt of All Content
This is the most important facet of understanding project delivery time. Most often than not, it is the client that delays their own projects through delay in sending us information or files required to complete the project. We understand what it takes to run a business and how challenging it can be to focus and follow through on one project at a time. With multi-tasking common place these days, people can forget what it takes to really get something accomplished.
Realizing this, Zee Designs does its best to support our clients with retrieving as much data as we can with as minimal interaction with the client as possible. For instance, “Give us the contact information for your photographer, and we’ll make the request.” “Give us the contact information for your assistant and we’ll ask for copies of this and that.” “If you can provide us with a draft, we can acquire professional writing services.” I’m sure you all get the drift of this.
When we receive content in “dribs and drabs,” that’s fine by us. We don’t mind reviewing and organizing materials as they come to us. However, it’s easy to see how a delay with receiving ALL content for a project can cause delays and rushes with a project’s final delivery date.
When it comes right down to it though, we rely on the content that is provided by you and your associates as well as the time you make for us during the many project phases as indicated above to get your projects done in a timely manner.
In this phase we:
Zee Designs has spent many years developing relationships with a vast array of vendors who can supply any services unavailable inhouse.
Our Team conceives creative ways to achieve your objectives. Whether your project is a logo for your start-up business or a brochure for a well established company, most of our design process starts as sketches on paper. This brainstorming time is free from censoring and helps to begin the composition process.
Once a direction has been decided upon, digital concepts will be developed for a Team review and discussion, and finally client review.
We love it when you are delighted with our final product. Along the way we will present you with choices, and when the job is complete, we will present you with proofs to ensure your satisfaction. You will be required to sign off on the project and pay for outstanding costs before it goes into final production.
If your project requires printing final materials, Zee Designs will work to get you the best price and highest quality service on your print jobs. The vendors that we work with regularly provide impeccable workmanship, and we wish to ensure that we choose the best one for your job by getting bids.
With final approval on a project that is headed for a printer, we will prepare the files to industry standards, package your project for the vendor, and coordinate all correspondence in the printing process.
Once a print project has received final approval, final payment on the printing is due before it is sent to the printer. After payment has been received, your materials will be delivered to the printer. When the print job is complete, it will be delivered. At this time, if you need any digital files related to your project, you will be provided with them.
Agreements are part of the process, too, and we like to be up front about them. These are our standard Agreements that may be modified to accommodate special projects.
