SEO Services Overview:

We can

• Determine the level of SEO service you require.
• Do research to determine optimal keywords and update your metatags and content accordingly.
• Introduce you to blogs and other Social Media and help you introduce it into your marketing plan and SEO strategy.
• Provide professional writing services for websites, press releases, blogs, and  other social media. We can also submit your news to online distribution sources so it is available to Google News.
• If appropriate, submit your site to online directories. Submission costs may apply.
• Set up Google Analytics for your site to track detailed information on number of visitors and other web traffic statistics.
• Provide periodic reports on web traffic and make recommendations for tweaking the content or keywords based on performance and changes in focus on the part of the search engines.
• Do competitive SEO analysis, looking at your site compared to your competitors' sites and recommend how to make your site more competitive.
• Upgrade existing print materials or create new materials so they are consistent with your web image, contain the web address, and use similar wording to the keyword-rich content on your site.
• If your site is programmed using something other than ZD-CMS™ or EDU-CMS™, such as HTML or Flash, we can help you explore the benefits of upgrading. Older Flash sites in particular have challenges when it comes to modern Search Engine Optimization.

Estimates of time required

Research to make recommendations for SEO relative content and metadata can run 2 to 4 hours per site. If competitor analysis is desired, it may take longer. Followup benchmarking and recommendations would take around the same amount of time, and perhaps more, to put together benchmark reports and new recommendations.

• Clean, error-free HTML that is easy for web bots to index, since all the formatting is in a separate file.
• Javascript is used for enhancement only, so the pages are clear and understandable to the search engines and have added sparkle for visitors who can process it.
• Individual web pages have small file sizes, since the formatting is in another file.
• Logical navigation helps the web bots find their way around the site.
• Pages that are not to be indexed by the search engines are clearly marked.

This process is for an existing site that has yet to be fully optimized, or as maintenance, or where business conditions or services have changed. We review where the site currently stands with respect to stated goals, and suggest next steps. We have a standardized benchmarks checklist. Depending on the sophistication of the site and the requirements, it can be a summary job or a very detailed one.

We can contact other sites for direct links, write articles for other sites that reference your site, get you interviews with complementary sites that will link to your site. There is a wide variety of options so price depends on the scope of the job.

Directory submissions – this activity is customized on the industry and goals of the client. Many directories charge for inclusion.

Periodic Reporting and Strategic Recommendations – We can evaluate analytic reports that show your number of hits and how your audience is visiting the site. We can make recommendations for changes based on your desired goals. Price depends on the scope of job.

Learn and plan

• Read the entire section of the Zee Designs FAQ’s on Search Engine Optimization, particularly the overview, to ensure you understand the current state of search engine technology.
• Fill out the Zee Designs SEO Questionnaire to start the process of  improvement.
• Fill out the Zee Designs Marketing Questionnaire and review your overall marketing plan and consider how promoting and driving traffic to the website fits in. SEO is only one part of a  bigger picture.

Online Research

• Go to a variety of search websites and try different combinations of search terms to see where your website falls in the list. Compare the number of responses to different search terms. This will give you an insight into the competition for rankings. Notice which sites are at the top of the list and if that is consistent between searches. Look at these sites to get some insights. Do the same searches later and see if you get the same results. Do the same searches in different search engines to compare the results. This exercise will put things into perspective for you.
• Monitor the site statistics available through your site manager (for ZD-CMS™ sites only) or Google Analytics if that has been set up for you. Monitor this as you do marketing promotions or have other people add links to your site from their sites.
• Monitor the other sites that you link to as time goes on, making sure that they are still high quality sites.

Update your website content to feed the web bots

• Update the page content regularly so it is fresh. When you update content, be aware of keyword phrases and your subject matter so that any content added is congruent with your purpose. People like to revisit sites that are continually adding useful content.
  • As you update your site with photos and other graphics, be sure to enter the alternative text in the dialog box where you add the graphic. Use text that is keyword related and relevant to your subject.
• Add links to high quality (and ranked) sites that are similar to yours or complement your subject. Avoid linking to sites that are unrelated in any way. If you can have the other sites link to you, that is a bonus.
• Avoid things that can cause your ranking to go down, like:
  • Links to bad neighborhoods, such as link farms and Free-For-All sites (sites that allow anyone to add a link).
  • Vile language or words that suggest that the site is spam.
  • Copyright violations.
  • Text the same color as the background so it is invisible.

Promote your site

• Ensure that your website address appears on all printed materials, such as cards, letterhead, brochures, signs, newsletters, coupons, and ads.
• Make your website address part of your email signature.
• When you make significant additions or changes to your site, announce it in social media, such as Linked In.
• Mention your website address when networking or when being interviewed for blogs or newspaper articles.
• Talk up your site to your clients.
• Craft well-written eNews to announce a specific service, product, special offer, or educational insight, and send to your clients on a regular basis, such as once a month.
